Marketing & Communications Manager  

Contract: Full time, permanent position 
Salary: £25,295 – £28,672  
Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week)

We are seeking a passionate and experienced marketeer to join us! An important role in this small team, you will be responsible for planning and implementing all marketing, communications and audience development activity across all areas of our work, ensuring that the company brand, profile and activities achieve a high level of recognition across the arts sector and beyond.  
 
You will be a proactive self-starter, keen to play key part in our ambitious plans for the future, including a major citywide heritage project to coincide with the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham; a varied and innovative programme of live and online dance, music and theatre performances; and increasing our national and international partnerships and collaborations. A key focus will be on retaining existing, and developing new, audiences in the wake of COVID-19 and adapting marketing materials and channels accordingly in order to meet the changing needs of audiences. 
 
Knowledge of South Asian arts is not necessary – we’ve got it covered! Outreach Project Co-ordinator (Freelance – Yuva Gati South Asian Dance Programme) 

Together with our partners DanceXchange, we are looking for a proactive and highly organised freelance Outreach Project Co-ordinator to support the Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) outreach team.

The Outreach Project Co-ordinator will be responsible for organising, co-ordinating and administrating the student outreach and recruitment campaign for our Yuva Gati South Asian Dance programme, along with external relationship building. The focus of the outreach and recruitment campaign is to identify and recruit young people for the September 2021 student intake, by driving engagement in the August 2021 CAT auditions.

The Outreach Project Co-ordinator will work to the outreach campaign strategy designed by the Artistic Associate (Yuva Gati), DanceXchange and Sampad.

If you have strong project co-ordination and administration skills, experience in the arts and cultural sector, an ability to work effectively under pressure, with exceptional relationship-building skills, and a genuine commitment to developing young talent from a variety of backgrounds, we’d love to hear from you!

Learning & Community Engagement Manager (City of Empire to City of Diversity: A Visual Journey) 

Contract: Part time position – 22.5hours per week 
Grade/Salary: £26,511 – £29,577 pro rata for 3 days per week
Type of Contract: Fixed term from April 2021 – October 2022

Sampad, in partnership with Birmingham Archives, has been awarded a grant by the National Heritage Lottery Fund to deliver a new project which explores Commonwealth Migration to Birmingham through a collection of photographs. The project, From City of Empire to City of Diversity: A Visual Journey, will see the preservation and cataloguing of 10000 photographs from Ernest Dyche’s photography studios, an incredible legacy for those wishing to use such collections for family history, artistic, academic or other research.    

To celebrate the Commonwealth Games coming to Birmingham in 2022, the project will also deliver an activity and learning programme to bring the collection to life and help increase engagement with this unique collection. To lead this programme, we are seeking an experienced individual for the role of Learning & Community Engagement Manager, which will include a major 3 month exhibition at the Library of Birmingham, a touring exhibition to schools and community centres, a talks and events programme for community spaces, schools and residential care homes, summer schools and a whole host of other events. The activity and engagement programme will be adapted to be delivered within government restrictions.
