Sampad To Perform At The 2017 Serendipity Arts Festival in Goa, India

We’re thrilled to announce that Sampad will be at the Serendipity Arts Festival 2017 this December, with an exciting new commission from Vidya Patel, Connor Scott and Shammi Pithia!

Along with Serendipity Arts Trust and Midlands Arts Centre, Sampad has co-commissioned brand new work from Vidya, Connor and Shammi called About The Elephant, which explores our place and purpose within civilisation. There will be a Preview performance of About the Elephant at Midlands Arts Centre, before the work goes to the Serendipity Arts Festival on 18 and 19 December 2017.

Serendipity is a multidisciplinary arts festival on the banks of the river Mandovi in Panaji, Goa, India. A cultural experience in itself, the festival brings together visual, performing and culinary arts. Curated by a panel of artists and institutional figures, this second edition of the festival will feature over 70 arts projects, including 40 commissioned specifically for the festival.

Piali Ray, Director of Sampad is also joining the Festival’s Talking Culture strand on 20 December, to talk about Sampad’s role in establishing South Asian arts and artists within mainstream culture across the UK.

Serendipity Arts Festival takes place in Goa, India, from 15-22 December 2017. For more information, visit www.serendipityartsfestival.com.
