Sampad Awarded Arts Council Funding

Sampad is delighted to have been awarded with Arts Council funding to 2022.

Nasheima Sheikh, Deputy Chair for Sampad, says

“This funding will provide stability and enable us to develop individual artistic talent, as well as capacity in the sector through the many partnerships that we work with. As a leading South Asian Arts organisation, we have sought to expand our horizons to reflect the changing demography of Britain and have worked locally, regionally and internationally.  We are heartened that this valuable work will continue and expand over the next period.”

Ranjit Sondhi CBE, Chair of Sampad adds

“I am delighted that, once again, the Arts Council has recognised Sampad as a National Portfolio Organisation. The funding they have made available for the next four years will enable Sampad to contribute significantly to the richness, diversity and vibrancy of the national arts offering”.

Peter Knott, Area Director, Arts Council England comments

“Sampad connects people and communities with British Asian arts and plays a key role in sharing cultural experiences through dance, theatre and music. We’re happy to be supporting them over the next four years and hope that our funding will continue to bring people from all walks of life together through the arts.”
