About The Elephant Receives Rave Reviews At Alchemy Festival

Pulse magazine dubs the performance a “creative explosion”.

About The Elephant has been taking audiences by storm during its UK tour, and after the most recent performance at Southbank Centre, London, Sanjeevini Dutta from Pulse published a rave review extolling the production’s creativity and beauty.

Commissioned by Sampad and Serendipity Arts Festival, the work sees Kathak artist Vidya Patel and contemporary dancer Connor Scott blend their respective styles in a mesmerising sequence, with musical accompaniment by successful multi-instrumentalist and voice artist Shammi Pithia.

At its world premiere during Serendipity Arts Festival, Goa, the piece was heralded as “a perfect performance” and “one of the highlights of Serendipity Arts Festival 2017.”

Now, Pulse continues the praise for the artists after their successful London performance as part of Alchemy Festival at Southbank Centre, on 6 May:

“…they are equal partners. There is fluidity, synchronisation and harmony between Vidya and Connor, which show the trust and respect between them. It is beautiful to watch.”
