The voice behind hit songs like Nadia (with Nitin Sawhney), Khwaab (with Niraj Chag) & Jakatta American Dream (#3 in UK main charts), Swati Natekar is one of the most respected voices of Indian Music in the U.K.

Swati is the daughter and disciple of renowned Hindustani Classical academic & scholar Vidushi Dr. Smt. Sushila Pohankar. She is a UK based Indian Classical, Ghazal and World music singer, songwriter and composer, who is known for her collaborations with Ustad Zakir Hussain, Talvin Singh, Craig Armstrong, Sonu Nigam & Muzaffer Ali.

Swati has released several acclaimed albums and has performed extensively at reputed international venues, both nationally and internationally in Europe, Caribbean, South Africa, India, Karachi, Nairobi. Swati’s voice also features on the Warner Brothers movie ‘The In-Laws’, and ‘The Republic Of Love’, directed by Deepa Mehta. Having featured over 25 albums so far, Swati has also released her own Ghazal albums ‘Dhanak’ & ‘Anjuman’; a Fusion album ‘Destiny Chakra’ and Thumri album “Anuraag”.

Swati’s lead vocals were featured on the theme song for Commonwealth Games in Delhi in 2010,and was chosen to represent the UK with the record the Bhajan “Vaishnav Jan” for the celebration of 150th year of Gandhi Jayanti. She also composed & sang poetry from “Geet Govind” for an exhibition at The Queen’s Gallery, Buckingham Palace, London.

Mid-day Mantra concerts take place in Symphony Hall’s brand-new The Jennifer Blackwell Performance Space. The concerts are free but you must book a ticket to attend.
