Sampad in partnership with B:Music present Mid-day Mantra. A free series presenting music and dance originating from the Indian Subcontinent to uplift the spirit on Saturday lunchtimes.

We are delighted to present Sanchita Pal, one of the most accomplished Hindustani (North Indian) Classical and Semi-Classical singers resident in the UK.

Born into a musical family in India, Sanchita has been living in Birmingham since 1994. She began her musical career under the able guidance of eminent gurus Prof Prakity Majumdar, Dr Aradhana Dey, Pandit Amiya Ranjan Banerjee and Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty. Sanchita excels in Khayal, Thumri, Bhajan, Nazrulgeeti and Ghazal.

Performing across Europe and America, Sanchita has collaborated with performers of Jazz, Spanish Flamenco and Western Classical music (including the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra) and has recorded music scores for film, radio and television in the UK. She was a regular on All India Radio. Her voice has been used in a number of documentaries including Hearing Voices (BBC Radio) and Afghan Women (Channel Four).

Mid-day Mantra concerts take place in Symphony Hall’s brand-new The Jennifer Blackwell Performance Space. The concerts are free but you must book a ticket to attend at www.BMusic.co.uk
