Welcome to #FtheFairytales – a digital participatory takeover for International Women’s Day 2021.
Stories just love locking up our women. And it seems we do, too. But enough is enough. On International Women’s Day (Monday 8 March 2021) we will be joining a family of women, girls, those identifying as female, and non-binary people. We will explore memories of fairytale and mythical characters who were locked up in their narratives, as part of an online protest in support of all those who feel, or are, locked up.
Working in partnership with No Ordinary Experience, we are inviting young people aged 12 – 15 to take part in two free digital workshops via Zoom, in order to create the materials for the #FtheFairytales Campaign. The first workshop will explore the connection between participants’ own experiences and the characters facing similar challenges in fairytales, whilst the second will help them understand current campaigns and fun ways they can make their final piece stand out.

Participants must register to attend both workshops, on:
Saturday 20 February, 2-3.30pm
Saturday 27 February, 2-3.30pm
There is an optional workshop on Saturday 6 March, 2-2.30pm, to share protest materials.
