Creative Leap was a new professional development programme set up to enable new and emerging Birmingham based artists to kick-start a career in the creative sector.
It ran from the beginning of 2010 to March 2011 and was led by a partnership of sampad and the Drum and funded by Birmingham City Council and Birmingham Cultural Partnership via the Working Neighbourhoods Fund.
11 individual artists and 4 small arts organisations were selected to take part in Creative Leap. Over the course of the programme, these artists created and showcased 14 new pieces of work which were shown in 34 venues around Birmingham with audiences of over 21,000 and delivered a programme of over 100 workshop sessions involving local communities.
