The Sabri Ensemble present

Shiraz

Franz Osten’s lavish 1928 silent film telling the romantic story of the Taj Mahal, the woman who inspired it and the two men who loved her is accompanied by a live score by internationally renowned tabla player and composer Sarvar Sabri. Alongside the Sabri Ensemble, he creates a rich soundcape of melody and rhythm with South Asian, jazz and Western classical influences.

The Sabri Ensemble features Sarvar Sabri on tabla, Trevor Lines on bass, Sanchita Pal on vocals, Carl Pebardy on sitar, Lluis Mather on saxophone, Dan Nicholls on piano, Hannah Marsden on violin and Harjinder Matharu on sarangi.
