Tagore was a hugely influential South Asian poet and many sampad projects have celebrated his legacy or been sparked by a line of his poetry. Kalpana will be screened as part of the World Cinema Foundation, created in Cannes in 2007 by Martin Scorsese and other film-makers, with the aim of restoring world treasures.
