The Place and Dance UK present Launch 2011, a Professional Development day for final year dance students and recent graduates.
A full day of seminars, jam-packed with inspiring information and ideas from professional dance artists about starting your ‘portfolio career’ in dance, and a brilliant networking opportunity. Topics include:
- Starting out as a choreographer; tips and advice about which paths to take, and key performance platforms in the UK and abroad.
- Working in dance and education; advice about next steps to take, key skills to develop and advice about applying for a PGCE course and other training programmes.
- Management and producing roles; how to get the position you want in arts management.
- All the information you ever needed to know about setting up as a freelancer: from self promotion to working abroad and dance legalities.
At the end of the day there will be an opportunity to ask a panel of leading dance professionals any questions you may have in our ‘Chat Show’ style discussion session.
Cost: £35 (£30 for Dance UK members) including lunch and refreshments.
