Come and celebrate International Women’s Day and unleash your inner voice!

Join Sampad for a live poetry performance and an interactive writing workshop session with Birmingham-based performance artist Zeddie Lawal.

Zeddie will perform some of her works and then deliver practical exercises for participants, to help to build their confidence and encourage them to share their own stories. As part of this she will break down boundaries for people who are new to sharing their own work.

Participants will have a great opportunity to present their writing in an open mic session within a supportive environment.

Zeddie is currently an intern at Beatfreeks a creative youth engagement agency based in the heart of Birmingham. Beatfreeks pioneer new ways of engaging, empowering and equipping young people through a blend of arts & media, social action and leadership and enterprise skills development .

Zeddie is also a final year drama and theatre arts student at the University of Birmingham, a member of the Birmingham REP Actor’s Foundry and in a band called Transits.
