Acclaimed sitar player Roopa Panesar accompanie by tabla virtuoso Gurdain Singh Rayatt

Considered one of the finest sitar players to emerge on the UK’s Indian music scene, Roopa Panesar is known for her unique and soulful style of playing and the incredible emotional depth of her sound.

Since training from the age of seven, under the great educationalist and sitar maestro Ustad Dharambir Singh MBE, she has gone from strength to strength. After completing her sell-out tour of the UK, she recently released her greatly anticipated first solo album ‘Khoj’. She has also taught the sitar for a number of years and is involved in a range of projects to inspire and educate the next generation of Indian classical musicians.

Roopa will be accompanied by Gurdain Singh Rayatt, a tabla virtuoso who has performed at many prestigious music festivals including Saptak, Harivallabh and Darbar Festival. Gurdain has also won numerous music prizes and has performed in the presence of HRH The Prince of Wales at the Royal Albert Hall.
